Saturdays at 10 a.m.: Drop by the Fuqua Conservatory lobby to watch the conservation team tend to the rare and endangered amphibians on display at the Garden. The frogs jump into action when presented with their meals, and an amphibian specialist is available to answer questions about these captivating creatures.

Public frog feedings allow visitors to observe one of the most interesting aspects of these amphibians – their feeding behaviors. Most frogs have long sticky tongues that shoot out at prey. Some, like Poison Frogs, are able to do this with such incredible speed and accuracy that all visitors notice are flies disappearing. Others, like the Splendid Leaf Frog, are dramatic feeders and hardly use their tongues at all, but rather stuff the crickets into their mouths with their hands.
