When is the Garden open?
The Garden’s current hours of admission are 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Tuesday – Sunday with last entry at 7 p.m. Hours are subject to change due to private events. Garden hours change throughout the year, and there are several Mondays when the Garden is open to guests. Please note: the last entry is one hour before the closing times listed below.

What guidelines should I know about before visiting?

COVID-19
As of February 26, 2022, the City of Atlanta has dropped its mask mandate. Guests are no longer required to wear masks in the Garden.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
To preserve the natural environment of the Garden, the following are prohibited:
- Outside food or beverages
- Smoking, cigars, chewable tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping, and any illegal substances
- Firearms and weapons of any kind, including items that look like weapons
- Balloons and confetti
- Sports equipment, including footballs, baseballs, soccer balls and Frisbees
- Bicycles, rollerblades, scooters, skateboards, hover boards, Segways, remote controlled vehicles and drones
- Portable music players without headphones and musical instruments
- Rice, birdseed and flower petals (for Garden wedding guidelines, contact the Events department)
GUEST SAFETY AND GARDEN CARE
For your safety and the care of the Garden’s collections:
- Stay on designated pathways at all times. Do not block pathways or access for other visitors.
- Children must be supervised at all times.
- Climbing on walls, exhibits and other structures (other than Children’s Garden play structures designated for that purpose) is prohibited.
- Use caution on stairs and wet surfaces, which can become slippery during watering.
- Do not collect or remove seeds, flowers, fruits and vegetables, plant labels, etc., or touch or handle plants or special exhibits (other than in designated areas of the Children’s Garden).
- Do not wade or swim in ponds or fountains.
- Do not feed or handle any wildlife.
- Pets are not allowed inside the Garden. Service animals are permitted. Please do not allow service animals to defecate or urinate in the Garden.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables in trash receptacles. All trash is sorted for recycling off-site.
- Keep your personal items with you at all times. The Garden cannot be held responsible for missing items.
- Please turn in any recovered items to a Security officer at the Hardin Visitor Center information window or to a staff person at an Admission booth.
DRESS
The Garden is a family-friendly environment. Dress for an outdoor, walking experience:
- Attire that is considered inappropriate or could detract for the experience of other guests is prohibited (including excessively revealing clothing, clothing with profanity, objectionable language or graphics).
- Shoes and shirts are required at all times (comfortable shoes for walking are recommended).
- Children may only wear bathing suits in the Children’s Garden splash pad.
- Adults may not wear bathing suits inside the Garden at any time.
BEHAVIOR
Please respect the Garden’s staff and your fellow guests:
- The Garden will not tolerate inappropriate behavior, including, but not limited to, yelling, violence, intimidation, threats, harassment, aggression, swearing, damage, abuse, or sexual harassment. Individuals who are aggressive toward staff or other guests will be escorted off the property.

What is timed ticketing?
Timed tickets help the Garden maintain a safe capacity to allow for social distancing. Immediate entry is not guaranteed to those who walk up and purchase tickets.
For non-members:
- All guests (ages 3 and up) must have a timed ticket to enter the Garden. Purchase here.
- All tickets are non-refundable. In the event of inclement weather, tickets may be transferred to another date for $5 per ticket. Tickets transferred from a weekday to a weekend require an additional $3 fee per ticket. Cost differences when transferring from a weekend ticket to a weekday ticket are not refunded.
- Please arrive on time. Admission tickets are not valid before the purchased time of admission. Arrive at the Garden within 15 minutes after your purchased time. We will make every effort to accommodate late arrivals, but entry beyond 15 minutes after your purchased time of admission is not guaranteed.
- You may stay in the Garden as long as you’d like. The average visit lasts 1.5-2 hours. We kindly ask that you keep this in mind so the Garden can safely meet admission demand.
- After purchasing, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tickets attached. If you do not receive your confirmation email, contact Garden Admissions in Atlanta or Gainesville, depending on which location you’re visiting.
ALL transactions at the Garden are credit/debit ONLY.
For Garden members:
- As of Nov. 1, 2021, member reservations are not required for admission. Simply bring your member cards and photo ID for complimentary daytime admission.
Do members need timed tickets?
No. As of Nov. 1, 2021, member reservations are no longer required before receiving complimentary daytime admission. Please bring your membership cards and photo ID to show at Garden Admissions.

Can I be refunded if there is bad weather on the day of my scheduled visit?
All General Admission tickets are non-refundable. Refunds or rain checks on admission ticket purchases are not granted for weather-related reasons.
In the event of inclement weather, tickets may be transferred to another date for $5 per ticket. Tickets transferred from a weekday to a weekend require an additional $3 fee per ticket. Cost differences when transferring from a weekend ticket to a weekday ticket are not refunded.
The Garden is open rain or shine. Most display gardens are outside, so dress appropriately for weather. There are indoor air conditioned and heated areas for guests including the Hardin Visitor Center, Longleaf restaurant and the Fuqua Conservatory and Orchid Center.
In the event of inclement weather that forces closure for safety reasons, the Garden will post on all its social media channels.

Can I walk up and purchase tickets?
Yes, however admission is not guaranteed to those who walk up and purchase tickets. To ensure entry, purchase your tickets online in advance.
Can my tickets be scanned from my phone, or do I have to print them?
When purchasing your ticket, choose Mobile Tickets, and you will receive a link to your tickets. If you choose print-at-home, please print out your tickets before arriving at the Garden.
What if I miss my time slot?
We will make every effort to accommodate late arrivals, but entry is not guaranteed after 15 minutes past your scheduled visit. Admission tickets are not valid until the time of your purchased admission.
How do I redeem guest passes?

Can I bring food, drinks or snacks into the Garden?
Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the Garden. They may be purchased at Longleaf restaurant, the Quick Café, the Snack Bar or bars located throughout the Garden.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not allowed inside the Garden. Only animals considered Service Animals by the Americans with Disabilities Act are permitted. Please see the Atlanta Botanical Garden Service Animal Policy for more detail.
Can I take photos in the Garden?
Guests are invited to take photographs and videos of the garden for personal use, however personal photo shoots, including engagement photos, wedding/bridal photos and family portraits using any professional equipment must be scheduled through the Private Events department in advance and require a fee. Garden Photography & Video Policy
The Garden is available for film, television, and commercial shoots of any size. The following brochure offers a sample of the many settings available and examples of previous productions. For more information, email Danny Flanders.
Guests grant permission to the Atlanta Botanical Garden to utilize their image, likeness and/or sound recordings for the purpose whatsoever in perpetuity.
All manner of drone photography and video of the Garden is strictly forbidden.
Is the Garden wheelchair-friendly? Are any available for rent?
Nearly all areas are accessible to guests with wheelchairs and scooters. Wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters are available for rent at Garden Admissions and are available on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be reserved.
Wheelchairs are complimentary during your visit and scooters are $25+tax for a 4-hour rental period. All scooter rentals must be paid for with a credit card and a photo I.D. is required. You must be 21 years old to rent a scooter and you must sign a rental agreement. Scooters may not be rented in inclement weather. Limited quantity available.

As a reciprocal member, do I need to reserve a timed ticket?
No. Reciprocal members can receive complimentary admission by presenting their current membership cards to Admissions. A timed ticket is not required.
Do you offer a military discount?
Yes. Thanks to the Home Depot Foundation, Active-duty service members with valid military ID receive $5 off each ticket purchased, up to four tickets. Because IDs must be validated in person, the military discount can’t be applied online. You must purchase tickets with the discount on-site at the Garden.

Feb. 18 – Sept. 17: Experience Thomas Dambo’s exhibition of enormous folklore-inspired sculptures built from reclaimed materials as it makes its world premiere at the Garden.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is located adjacent to Piedmont Park in Midtown.
Atlanta is served by the MARTA transit system. Bus #27 stops at the Piedmont Avenue entrance. Bus #27 may be boarded at the Arts Center or Lenox train stations.
Parking
at the Garden
On-site parking is available in the SAGE Parking Facility for Garden guests on Levels 4, 5 and 6 via Piedmont Avenue entrance. Park visitors use Levels 1, 2 and 3 via Monroe Drive entrance. The SAGE Parking Facility is currently card-only. No cash is accepted.
