Outreach, Education and Training
In addition to hosting conservation experts at conferences concerning rare plants and the highly endangered Torreya taxifolia, the Garden offers student internships and participates in community science programs that contribute data to the scientific community while educating young scientists.
Southeastern Partners in Plant Conservation
Coordinated by the Garden’s Southeastern Center for Conservation, SePPCon aims to bring together experts in many fields to discuss rare plant conservation.
Undergraduate Internships
Mentoring the next generation of conservation scientists is central to the Garden’s conservation and research mission.
TreeSnap and Torreya taxifolia
The TreeSnap app allows you to identify and tag trees in your community, on your property or in the wild. Scientists use the data you collect to locate trees for research projects, such as the Garden’s work with the highly endangered conifer, Torreya taxifolia.
Science Café
Science Café features expert speakers and discussions on timely conservation topics on select Thursdays.
Greater Atlanta Pollinator Partnership
The Georgia Pollinator Partnership (GAPP) began as a partnership between the United States Forest Service and Atlanta Botanical Garden in 2009 to create and promote pollinator gardens across the greater Atlanta area.
Southeastern Plant Conservation Alliance
The Southeastern Plant Conservation Alliance (SE PCA) is a cross-cutting partnership of public and private conservation professionals working in the Southeastern United States.
Field Trip: April Bog Tour
Employees from the Horticulture and Conservation & Research Department went on a field trip to better understand the habitat of many of the rare bog species that we conserve here at the Garden.
