Ashlynn Smith
Research areas: restoration ecology, rare plant demography, conservation
Ashlynn is the Gulf Coast Coordinator based in the Florida panhandle. Her responsibilities include model-guided surveys for rare plants, seed collection utilizing maternal line tracking, and demographic data collection for rare plant populations. Smith is also a Certified Burn Manager with the State of Florida and Ph.D. candidate with the University of Florida’s School of Natural Resources and Environment where she researches how restoration techniques aimed at woody encroachment in wet prairies influence the response of herbaceous groundcover vegetation.
